Keeping Our Community Safe: The Safety Committee
The Safety Committee is working diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. Our primary focus is on wildfire prevention and preparedness, and fire hydrant maintenance.
Fire Hydrant Maintenance
We kindly request your assistance in contacting the Austin Water Department for fire hydrant maintenance and testing. Your cooperation is vital in keeping our community safe.
Remove Dead Trees, Dead Major branches, Fallen Limbs and Accumulated Tree Leaves
Your GHHOA views dead trees, dead major branches, fallen limbs, and accumulated tree leaves to be prohibited debris under the restrictive covenants. When necessary, the committee will deliver leaflets about brush pick-up to residents with visible stacks of brush. If you receive this leaflet and have a brush pile on your property, we urge you to take immediate action to remove it. If you are unable to address the issue promptly, the committee may refer your address to the HOA Board as a possible violation. Please schedule collection of your green waste at: https://www.austintexas.gov/myschedule.
Wildfire Preparedness Guide
We encourage all homeowners to download the Wildfire Preparedness Guidelines. The guidelines on preparing for wildfires include maintaining a 30-foot barrier clear of burnable materials around your home, removing dead wood and firewood piles, and trimming tree canopies. These steps are crucial in protecting your property and assisting first responders in the event of a wildfire. The Firewise Communities Program also has great resources for wildfire preparedness.
